I am fascinated with the human need to visualize worlds beyond the reach of our senses. From Shamans and ghosts scratched in Paleolithic caves, Tantric Buddhist cosmologist, lost continents of ancient cartographers, Alchemist's formulas of transformation, to diagrams of elusive particles in modern physicists, we are compelled to chart, and diagram the unseen. Through my paintings I try to capture these invisible worlds. I work spontaneously, building up transparent wax and oil stick into multi-layered surfaces of organic textures. Using found objects I then scratch and score the surface creating a vocabulary of Darks and fragmented symbols inspired and appropriated from archeology, science and the spiritual realms.

I live and work in Burlington Vermont where I recently received the Festival Award at the 2004 Arts Alive festival, and have been chosen for the Vermont Selections Juried Exhibition of top Vermont artists held at Helen Days Arts Center in Stowe VT and St. Michaels College Gallery in Colchester VT. My prior work includes filmmaking and interactive design with the award winning design firm Jager Di Paola Kemp, and has been featured in numerous publications, and is in the permanent collection of the Museum for Decorative Arts, Hamburg Germany. Throughout the 1980s, I performed and recorded extensively in the NYC area with my band Spygods and launched the independent music label ''Invisible|" with Public Image Ltd member Martin Atkins. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rutgers University in 1984, and was born in Knoxville Tennessee and raised in Princeton, New Jersey.
